Aleks Wojtulewicz is a Performance artist based in the west midlands. he studied at Aberystwyth University under the guidance of Heike Roms and Jill Greenhalgh. Since finishing university he has worked on a number of various projects around Europe.
Aleks was accepted to take part in the Platinum Scheme for emerging artists run by the Fierce company Birmingham. This gave him the opportunity to have mentoring from Kira O'Reilly, Harun Morrison and Laura McDermott. During this time he was accepted on to the IPAH summer camp, Berlin.
One of the most recent projects were man vs woman, for the Spill National Platform Ipswich where he questioned the notions of what makes a man a man, and what makes a woman a woman. He uses the physicality of his own body in space for his performances.He works within the parameters of durational art.
Recently his art has taken a turn in a different direction exploring the sounds of nature and using them to effect the mind. In his latest work at S-T-A-T-E of mind the aim of the work was to induce a trance like state on to the audience.
